The Robotics II class at Highland High School competes in the VEX Robotics Competition. Students have already taken Robotics I, which teaches basics robotics principles. In Robotics II, students work together in teams in an engineering-like setting to create a robot that will have specific abilities. The students design, prototype, build, and program a VEX robot.
Preparing for this competition has proven to be an excellent method to combine all of the skills and knowledge that the students gained during the first semester of Robotics I.
Students will compete against more than 40 school teams in two competitions. The first is at Marion Technical College on February 24, and the second is at Cuyahoga Community College (West Campus in Parma) on March 3.
This years competition is called “Gateway”.
